I think they try. They usually have at least one vegan thing to eat every meal. But most of the options are not nutritionally balanced or really flavorful. Since the spring 2020 semester they are making more strides to include an all vegan station. I hope with this change they will fix their mislabeling problem and include more nutritious options.

If you ACTUALLY look at the ingredients for the food here, it’s actually NOT vegan 95% of the time. Just because it seems vegan, it does not mean that it is. Some things are marked as vegan but they are actually not. If you want to eat the same three things every day all semester, then sure. Im excited to live in an apartment so that I can cook all the yummy vegan food!

The vegan options upstairs in the dining hall are few and far between. They had to change my meal plan to something that freshman can’t normally get because I was literally living off of rice chex mix (without soy milk because the machine was broken and/or empty). Sometimes they have an option that’s labeled vegan, but it’s generally just vegetables or pasta (which was overcooked/pretty smushy). Even with declining balance, my options are still extremely limited. Downstairs there’s Which Wich which has two vegan options, but you have to get a lettuce wrap or bowl because the breads are not vegan. Panda Express as a chain, and here obviously, has no vegetarian or vegan options (things are cooked in chicken/cow broth). Then there’s a burger studio, Starbucks, and a deli, which are not very suitable. There’s Chic Fil A, sushi, some pizza place, and an Einstein’s Bagels. No vegan options there. In the POD, there’s a place called Freshens which has healthier food. I’ve yet to find a vegan option there. However, the POD is also like a tiny convenience store, and it does have a small amount of vegan options. There’s fruit (expensive at $1/piece), two kinds of Amy’s burritos that are vegan, one kind of soup, some crackers, Spicy Sweet Doritos, and once I found LingLing’s vegetable spring rolls (but there was only one lonesome bag), which are good to eat sometimes, but boring to live off of solely. Overall not a good place to be vegan if you have to live off of the school meal plan. They are trying to work with me on providing more vegan options, but at the moment there isn’t much.
