Iowa could be much better, but for being in the Midwest it is very vegan-friendly. I grew up in Iowa and currently attend the University of Iowa, and the vegan options here are absolutely delicious. Everyday they offer at least 3 or 4 vegan options, along with the occasional vegan dessert. They label all of their food, vegan or not, with common allergens and dietary restrictions. Again, could be better and will get better with time and hard work, but it is already great.

University of Iowa does not offer much beyond salads for vegans in the dorms and school cafeteria areas. Two of the few options I was able to eat, hummus and pita chips and a chickpea wrap, are sold at kiosks in campus buildings and come from the local mediterranean restaurant Oasis.
