ISU Dining has consistently changed how their dining centers and meal plans work each year. For the school year starting Fall of 2018, they changed the menus, and fail to report menus to their website. This makes it difficult as a vegan to plan which dining center to go to. They do attempt to offer a vegan entree for each meal, but fail to do so in at least of one their dining centers consistently. On top of this, they mislabel their vegan option constantly. An example would be, mashed potatoes, as they are prepared with milk here. They use special utensils to serve the food.l, yellow handle means vegan. Rather recently, I saw the yellow handle on mashed potatoes and took a look at the ingredients. It contained milk and buttermilk, and they labeled it as vegan. ISU Dining consistently makes it difficult to plan a healthy vegan diet at their dining halls due to mislabeling and not posting their menus properly online.

Overall, the dining centers do a pretty good job at offering vegan options. There is nondairy milk at every dining center. Always soy milk, and sometimes rice or almond milk as well. There is also allergy coolers with items like vegan yogurt and vegan cookies. Items are labeled if they are vegetarian and the staff is usually quite knowledgable if it contains animal products or not. One improvement would be to offer more whole food options, unlike the usual options of veggie burgers, veggie nuggets, etc.
