As a Vegan and a Junior at Dickinson college, I cannot in good faith praise Dickinson’s dining service or even encourage prospective vegan students to decide to come here (as of now). The food is very lousy (nonvegan included) and many of the options previously offered in previous years have been cut. It is frustrating because often I am left to scrape up what I can at the salad bar for lunch and dinner and eat cold cereal or sorry oatmeal for breakfast. Long lines have also made getting enough to eat frustrating. Unfortunately, Dickinson is very good at saying that they value the input of their community but they rarely ever care to put in the actual work in doing so. If you are vegan and eating good nourishing food is a priority for your college experience I’d highly suggest looking at other schools.

Gross rice overcooked with hard as rock burnt soy nuggets. Disgusting and outrageous.

Dickinson has great vegan options, they also have many gluten-free options. There is a vegan section of the dining hall that is very popular. There are vegan options offered at the main line, sometimes. The only area that could be improved would be labeling. They often get the phrase vegetarian and vegan switched.

I am a vegan, and am able to eat protein at every meal. There is a well-made vegan option at every lunch and dinner, there are multiple nondairy milk options (soy milk, almond milk, rice milk), vegan entrees and desserts are always labeled (they also do a good job of labeling gluten-free, containing pork, containing alcohol), and there is a vegan section at the dining hall (that is highly liked). There are definitely areas that could be improved, but overall I am quite happy with and impressed by the vegan options at Dickinson.
