You can do a build-your-own soup or salad, which can both be veganized; there is sometimes a veg chilli or a spaghetti marinara (can add veggies like broccoli and mushrooms) offered. There is a black bean burger option, but I’m not sure if it’s vegan. They do offer a vegan mayo option. The breakfast and dessert options are slim to none. There is a little grocery store in the cafeteria area that does have some Amy’s frozen vegan meals, some fresh produce, cliff bars, etc. DePaul’s Lincoln Park dining hall itself doesn’t offer very many vegan items, but about 2 blocks away, the restaurant “Vegan Plate” offers amazing veg Thai-American cuisine. DePaul’s downtown location is nearby to the fully vegan “Native Foods” restaurant.

I’ll admit, the vegan options are not the best here at DePaul. While there are vegan options available, the selection is limited and the quality is poor. I have tried most of the vegan options on campus and there are only a few that I continue to eat. The noodle bowl is pretty decent because you can select your noodles, vegetables, protein (there is tofu available), and broth (vegetable broth is available. It’s like making your own Ramen Noodles and you get quite a lot for your buck. The bagels on campus are actually quite good. I also enjoy the all fruit smoothies. There are vegan sandwich options available and there is also soy milk and cereal at almost every building you go in. The selection on weekends is super limited. I tend to gravitate toward the salad bar, which actually has quite a nice selection. Overall, it is possible to eat vegan while at DePaul but it might mean making a couple sacrifices in either taste or convenience.
