According to the Good Food Institute, the sales of animal-free foods grew three times faster than overall food sales in 2021. Research shows that Gen Zers specifically view going vegan as a way to promote compassion toward animals, address the climate catastrophe, lower their carbon footprint, and promote sustainability. We offere at least one vegan entree per meal at Berea for both Lunch and dinner.

We do not have meatless Mondays. The vegan entree’s are usually white rice. This school is not good with vegan and vegetarian options.

I’m a Berea alum; worked in foodservice in the early 80’s. Berea offered daily meatless options (before vegan was a household term). Today they have a sustainable village and have had a history of being ahead of their time on issues of justice and sustainability. I hope more current students will find this website and put Berea College on the vegan/vegetarian map where it belongs.
