The options are pretty horrendous, considering we are supposed to be from a pretty “organic”, environmentally friendly, “label gmo’s” area. We used to have an OK little cafe/ sandwich place in the Atrium called Engrained, but we replaced that slightly vegan-friendly option with a 2nd Subway on campus! So unless you want a bagel, a $4 cup of grapes, or a cookie… you are just about out of luck! Western Washington University is filled with more pseudo hippies, than real “hippies” asking for vegan food, apparently.

All the dining halls all offer a fresh, delicious salad bar that runs at all hours of operation. There is always at least one or more vegan/vegetarian option and they highlight local products and produce when they are serving it! As a vegan, I survived in the dining halls of Western Washington University quite comfortably. Also the Students for Sustainable Food club on campus is working to have 40% of the dining hall meals local and organic by 2020!
