They don’t offer vegan options and force you to pay for the meal plan anyway! Horrible! I petitioned to have the meal plan refunded, they refused! It’s an injustice and an abuse! I’m going to transfer ASAP!

University of the Pacific offers no vegan meal options! They offer a limited vegetarian menu high in dairy. Worst of all, they force all freshmen to pay for a meal plan. You have to submit a complicated petition with two written statements to request a refund of the useless meal plan. My brother survives on the one meal a day I can drive over to him. The campus is located in Stockton, a backwards city with no healthy vegan restaurant options. I’m not surprised they haven’t responded to PETA….what they do to vegan students is practically criminal. My brother started school in the fall, he still has not received a reimbursement for the meal plan he cannot use! My brother is a lifelong vegan, he would rather starve than eat animal products. Anyone not complaining is clearly not vegan…the campus store has a few highly processed vegan items such as ice cream bars…that’s not real food! He can’t survive on that! Worst experience!

This university almost never has vegan options. I’m on campus every day, and I’ve been deeply disappointed by the lack of vegetarian and vegan options. If I do happen to find vegan food, it is often unintentionally vegan or clearly made by someone who’s not sure what vegan food is.

The Grove is always stocked with loads of vegan options from soy milk to love’s flatbread, to tofutti ice-cream sandwiches. If they don’t have something you can always ask them to special order it for you. The Marketplace has a load of different food that you can easy veganize from burritos, sandwiches, pasta, and asian food. They also participate in meatless monday by offering many more vegetarian specials. We’ve also got a small garden by the art building that sells produce certain days of the week.
