I’m studying abroad right now so unfortunately, I cannot submit an up to date picture of vegan food on campus. However, I will say that while it is not the most extensive selection, AVI (the company in charge of food services at Sarah Lawrence) is very good about labeling vegan options and providing vegan alternatives at our two dining facilities. At Bates, our main dining hall, there is a “vegan/vegetarian” station usually featuring a vegan hot entree, a grain or pasta, and a vegetable side along with a case of vegan desserts like banana bread, cookies, or brownies. They also provide soymilk, although vegan cream cheese and butter spread would be nice, too! There is also an extremely large salad bar, most of the options on which are vegan. At the Pub, our quick-service dining area, they have a fair amount of options for quick vegan meals like sandwiches, wraps, hummus, salads, fruit, and snacks like chips and pretzels. They also offer soymilk for coffee here, and usually they have Silk chocolate soymilk boxes. Overall, not bad, but not great, either. The variety could be much better.
