I do not recommend relying solely on the dining halls for your meals as I did. There are barely any vegan options, and when there are, it not only tastes horrible 98% of the time, but it is unsubstantial. Unless I’m eating an absurd amount of food, I only get 10-15g of protein each meal. They do have a salad bar, but the vegetables taste like dirt. And they do not really have any tasty vegan dressings. The pasta bar has no protein sources. They label things or it’s on the app, but sometimes they will advertise a vegan option on the app, but it’s not actually at the dining hall when I get there.

I went on a tour today and the entres are NOT marked vegan/vegetarian or anything like that. They have “contains:” and that’s it. Staff was unhelpful in determining wether food was vegan friendly. Good thing I brought snacks.

Vegan options are quite lacking at dining courts. Almond milk would be nice, and the soy milk is always out. Dairy is often unnecessarily added to what would be great vegan dishes. I would rate this place a D.

I am a junior at Purdue and I have been vegan for five years. I have never had any trouble finding food here. There is a lot of make your own stations (pasta, burritos, stir fry, etc.), and the salad bars are amazing!

Purdue offers many options that fit the vegan bill. I love that in at least one of the dining courts there is kale offered at the salad bar. They also have nutritional yeast as a condiment in some of the dining halls. There’s always something I can find.

Purdue always had a large range of food options — international, personal lifestyle choice, etc. Amazing.
