The school has two dinning halls, Lentz and Trueblood. Lenz has a section dedicated to vegans, but it only has one choice. Lenz also labels what has milk and what doesn’t, while at Trueblood you have to ask someone who works there. Trueblood has a section of vegetarian/vegan food but it is poorly labeled. I constantly have to ask workers if certain dishes are vegan. Both dinning halls offer soy milk.

SIU Carbondale has two main dining halls. On East campus there is soy milk available on request and there is a salad bar. They also have a permanent bar for vegetarians/vegans that changes food every meal. West campus has soy milk available, a salad bar, and a bar with mixed salads and cold sides which has (by my estimates) an 80% accuracy with labeling milk/dairy/egg products correctly. There is a made-to-order station that allows you to order pizza sans cheese and meat as well as two vegetarian and one vegan burger options. There are cooked vegetables and vegan sides available at almost every meal and there is a clearly-labeled, vegan station with potatoes, sweet potatoes, and a vegan main course at every meal with the exception of weekend brunch (but everyone has limited options for that one meal). Anyone with a dining plan can access either of these dining halls meaning you can acquire vegan food at every meal. Unrelated to the dining halls, there are two coffee servers on campus. Starbucks has vegan friendly options, and DeLytes in the library has soy milk and other vegan friendly options as well!
